Help us put on the best finish line in the biz

Course marking volunteers pick up flags, signage, and supplies from DC Peaks headquarters before race day and place course markings along assigned sections of the route the day before the race. Detailed marking instructions and assigned locations will be provided in advance. Volunteers are responsible for placing markers as instructed and confirming when their assigned section is complete.

This position is stationed at the finish line and assists the race directors with logistics throughout race day. Duties include delivering food or water to aid stations, picking up drop bags from aid stations and transporting them back to the finish line every few hours, and handling other tasks as needed. The volunteer will use their own car but will be reimbursed for gas.

Help us bring the finish line to life! Setup volunteers assist with unloading trucks, setting up canopies, tables, fencing, signage, timing equipment, and organizing the finish area so it’s ready to welcome runners. It’s hands-on work that sets the tone for race day and creates an unforgettable finish line experience.

Be in charge of the finish line lights. You’ll work with the finish line setup crew, but your job is the lighting: setting up, powering and testing every light so runners finishing after dark come in to a bright finish chute.

Thank you for helping us close things out strong. Finish line takedown volunteers assist with breaking down the finish line area, including canopies, tables, signage, fencing, timing equipment, and any remaining race infrastructure.

You’ll help clean up the park, pack supplies, load trucks and trailers, and make sure the venue looks as good as (or better than) we found it. It’s hands-on work at the end of a big day, but it’s critical to wrapping up the event smoothly and leaving a great impression.

Volunteers will assist the Race Director at the finish line with handing out finisher medals, managing the finish chute, organizing post-race items, and helping with general finish line tasks as needed.

Licensed medical volunteers (EMT, nurse, or doctor) may also serve in this role and will be stationed at the finish line to monitor runners and provide medical care if necessary.

Staff an aid station: fill bottles, hand out food, check runners in and out, and keep the energy up. Shifts are listed per station; the dollar amount is race credit toward a future DC Peaks race entry, not a cash payment.

Sweepers begin their segment after the final runner has passed through and travel the entire section of the course they selected. They ensure no runners are left behind, lost, or injured, and remove all course markings along their section. Sweepers are responsible for their own transportation to and from their section of the course.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to camp overnight at a key spot along our 14.5-mile remote trail section to provide moral support and visibility for runners passing through between ~8 PM and 8 AM. This isn't an aid station—just a friendly crew with a campfire, cheers, and basic communication back to race HQ to help runners feel less alone during this long stretch.

Minimum 2 people per group (but 4+ is ideal so you can take shifts and get some rest). Bring your own camping gear, headlamps/headphones for night shifts, warm layers, and any snacks/firewood. (The spot is ~5.3 miles in with about 3,700 ft of climbing. There is a natural water source near this spot. We will send more details.

Fill all of the water jugs at DC Peaks headquarters on Thursday, the day before the race, so every aid station is stocked and ready to go. It can take up to six hours. DC Peaks HQ is at 1Solar, 819 N Lagoon Dr, Farmington. Questions? Email info@dcpeaks.com.

Hand out Zig Zag parking passes to 100-mile crews at DC Peaks HQ (1Solar, 819 N Lagoon Dr, Farmington). A crew can get its pass as soon as their runner leaves Bountiful Peak (mile 72.9): check the runner on Results & Tracking, hand over the pass, and point them to Zig Zag, about 15 minutes away. Runners usually need about 2 hours to get from Bountiful Peak down to Zig Zag, so crews have time. 100-mile crews only: the 50M and 55k have no crew at Zig Zag. Questions? Email info@dcpeaks.com.

Setup with the captains begins at this time. We do need the setup volunteers to meet at the DC Peaks headquarters an hour prior to load up equipment and deliver it to the aid station site.

This volunteer will lead a small crew to close down an assigned aid station after the captains have wrapped up operations. Your team will load all supplies, tables, tents, water containers, signage, and equipment into a truck, ensure the site is completely cleaned and returned to its original condition, and transport everything back to the DC Peaks warehouse. Once there, you’ll help unload and properly stage the gear so it’s organized and ready for post-race inventory. We will send you more information if you select this task. Thank you!

Licensed first responders, nurses, or physicians stationed at aid stations and the finish line. Provide injury assessment, basic treatment, runner monitoring, and emergency coordination when necessary. You’re the calm in the chaos and the safety net behind the scenes.
